Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Draft — pending final review. Wording may change before launch.
By using Siner you agree to these terms. Siner is a non-custodial Nostr client: you control your keys, your content, and your funds. Please read the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines too — they're part of your agreement with us.
The service
Siner is a client for the Nostr protocol. We operate a relay (relay.siner.me) and a media CDN, but Nostr is an open, decentralized network: we don't control it, and we can't guarantee the availability, content, or behavior of relays, wallets, or other services we don't run. Features may change, and parts of the service may be unavailable from time to time.
Eligibility
You must be at least the minimum age required in your country and by the app's store rating to use Siner, and you must not be barred from using it under applicable law. If you use Siner on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for it.
Your keys are your responsibility
Your identity is a cryptographic keypair that lives on your device. We never hold your private key and cannot reset, recover, or freeze it. If you lose your key and have no backup, your identity and access are gone permanently — no one, including us, can restore them. Safeguarding your key (and any backup password) is your responsibility.
Your content
You own and are responsible for what you create and publish. Because publishing on Nostr means broadcasting public, signed events to relays, you grant us and the relays a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, cache, and display that content for the purpose of operating and providing the service. You represent that you have the rights to everything you publish and that it doesn't violate these terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to publish illegal content or content prohibited by our Community Guidelines (see /guidelines), and not to misuse the service — for example by attacking our infrastructure, evading enforcement, scraping or overloading our relay, or interfering with others' use. You're responsible for your conduct and your content.
Reporting & moderation
You can report content or accounts in the app, and you can mute or block anyone. On the infrastructure we operate, we may remove content, and suspend or ban accounts, that violate these terms or our Guidelines — see the Guidelines for how enforcement works and how to appeal. Because Nostr is decentralized, our actions apply to our relay and storage; we can't remove content from relays we don't control.
Zaps are peer-to-peer
Lightning "zaps" are tips sent directly between users through their own wallets and lightning providers. Siner does not custody funds, process payments, set or take fees, or act as a money transmitter or exchange. You are solely responsible for your wallet, your transactions, and any taxes that apply. Siner doesn't sell in-app digital goods for the features it provides.
Third-party services
Siner can interact with services we don't operate — other relays, lightning-address and wallet providers, and media hosts. Your use of those is between you and them, under their terms, and we're not responsible for them.
Deletion & termination
You can delete your account in the app at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what deletion does and the limits of deletion on a decentralized network. We may suspend or terminate access to the infrastructure we operate if you materially or repeatedly violate these terms or the Guidelines, or where required by law. Terms that should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
Copyright & DMCA
We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to valid notices regarding content on the infrastructure we operate. To report claimed infringement, send a notice with the information required by the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512) to [DMCA_AGENT_CONTACT]. We may remove allegedly infringing content from our relay and storage and act against repeat infringers; counter-notices may be submitted through the same contact. We can't remove content hosted on relays we don't control.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content on the network is accurate, lawful, or safe. You use Nostr and Siner at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [ENTITY] and its operators won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost data, lost keys, lost funds, or content published by you or others. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it (which, for a free app, is typically zero). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [ENTITY] and its operators from claims and costs arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or the rights of others, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Siner evolves and will revise the date above. We'll surface material changes in the app; continuing to use Siner after changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be handled in the courts of [JURISDICTION] unless the law gives you other rights. Siner is operated by [ENTITY]. (To be finalized at legal review.)
Open-source software
Siner is built with open-source software. See /licenses for attributions and license terms.
